Darraka, Sudan
The dive site
Darraka at a glance
It is an island between Dahret Abid and Dahret Ghab. It was named Turtle Island because many turtles lay their eggs here. At the southeastern end, the reef wall drops to 25 meters before plunging into the depths.
The shape of the reef on the plateau is unusual. It forms a half-moon shape at the edge of the drop-off, and at the eastern end there is a huge chimney-shaped rise that extends almost to the surface.
