Habili Dahret Abid, Sudan
The dive site
Habili Dahret Abid at a glance
A few miles north of Dahret Abide lies a reef that isn’t specifically named on the maps. In our opinion, it’s one of the best dive sites in Sudan.
The reef has a northern tip and a southern corner, where you can often see schools of hammerhead sharks passing by at both ends at the same time. Schools of jackfish, tuna, and barracuda, a magnificent wall of black coral, and whitetip reef sharks. Due to the reef’s location, it’s impossible to dive there in bad weather, as it offers no shelter whatsoever.
