Kingston

Until a few years ago, it was mistakenly believed that this wreck was called the “Sarah” or “Sarah H.” However, it is now considered certain that the wreck at Shag Rock is the “Kingston.” The “Kingston” belongs to the first generation of steamships and was coal-fired. It lies upright, with its keel resting flat on the sandy bottom. The stern with its large propeller, the midship section, the spare propeller, and the marine growth on the wreck are particularly impressive. Strong currents sometimes occur here.
