Koh Haa Middle Island

"Koh" means "island," and "Haa" means "five." Confusingly, however, Koh Haa consists of six small islands located west of Koh Lanta.

At Koh Haa Middle Island, you can plan various dives, each interesting in its own way. Depending on the time of day, light conditions, and current conditions, it makes sense to start a dive from the south side and head along the east or west side toward the lagoon. From the south side of the reef, dive along the left shoulder down steep reef walls at depths of 18–25 meters, covered in a rich variety of marine life. Offshore, there are several coral boulders on a sandy bottom at a depth of about 20–30 meters, teeming with life. A thousand and one tiny glassfish, tuna gliding majestically through the open water, and schools of barracuda define this dive site. But enthusiasts of ghost pipefish, anglerfish, nudibranchs, and wart snails will also find plenty to enjoy. Whale sharks are the largest fish on Earth. While encounters with these calm, peaceful giants of the sea are always possible at Koh Haa, they ultimately come down to pure luck.
