Lankan Manta Point - North Male Atoll at a glance
At Lankan Finolhu, or "Manta Point," you’re almost guaranteed to see manta rays—and that’s true almost all year round! The fringing reef around Lankan Paradise Island slopes down to a sandy bottom at a depth of about 20–25 meters. However, at a depth of just 8–15 meters, there are several large coral boulders that serve as a cleaning station for the manta rays. The manta rays circle these blocks and let cleaner wrasse and bannerfish clean them. With a little luck, up to 10 manta rays will arrive at the cleaning station one after another—an unforgettable experience!
