Maaya Thila - Ari Atoll

Maaya Thila is an almost circular reef that slopes down in terraces from 6 meters to about 30 meters. These terraces are characterized by beautiful overhangs with abundant growth of gorgonians and whip corals; all around the reef, you can often see whitetip sharks and gray reef sharks swimming through the open water; on the reef’s top, you’ll find grazing sea turtles and Napoleon wrasse. An absolute highlight and a MUST for every diver is a night dive at Maaya Thila, where you can watch numerous whitetip sharks hunting!
