Rakeedhoo Kandu - Felidhoo Atoll at a glance
This channel is quite deep, but it attracts divers with its caves, as well as beautiful overhangs on both sides of its entrance and an impressive drop-off (>150 m) leading out to the open sea. Here, too, the current varies from mild to strong, as is the case with many kandus in the Maldives. Overhangs with soft, fan, and black corals can be found all around the channel’s entrance, especially on its northwest side. Sharks, Napoleon wrasse, barracuda, tuna, and other spectacular fish gather here. In the early morning hours, encounters with hammerhead sharks are possible.
Depth: 10–50 m
