Ras Abu Soma
The dive site
Ras Abu Soma at a glance
Along this 2-kilometer-long reef, there are several different dive sites that can be explored depending on wind conditions. Ras Abu Soma is ideal for drift dives. This dive site is characterized by large table corals, under which large moray eels or potato groupers are often found. With a little luck, you might spot eagle rays or whitetip reef sharks here.
Ras Abu Soma Garden is a coral garden that slopes gently from 3 m to 30 m. At about 12 m, there’s a large plateau with many sandy areas and coral boulders. The sandy bottom between the coral blocks is anything but boring—it’s easy to overlook the perfectly camouflaged crocodilefish or torpedo rays.
