Shaab Claudio
The dive site
Shaab Claudio at a glance
An enchanting dive site!
The sandy bottom around the reef slopes gently from a depth of 18 meters. At the southeastern end, the entrances to the cave system are located at depths ranging from approximately 3 to 9 meters. The cave passages open up to the water’s surface at various points. The incoming daylight creates a fabulous play of light. If you follow the passages toward the center of the reef, you’ll arrive at a cathedral-like space.
The porosite coral garden on the east side is incredibly colorful and teeming with fish. In the cleaner stations in the upper reef area, you’ll find old, grumpy-looking barracudas. A very curious and approachable large Napoleon fish has made its home beneath the anchorage for several years now.
When wind conditions are right, Shaab Claudio is a wonderful spot for night diving.
