Shark Point / Hin Mu Sang at a glance

The small island of Hin Mu Sang—Shark Point—is located 25 km east of Phuket and is marked by a beacon.

This dive site is an underwater protected area and consists of three separate rock formations. On the sandy bottom at depths of 18–25 meters surrounding these three formations, you have a very good chance of encountering leopard sharks. Leopard sharks usually rest motionless on the sandy bottom during the day. At night, they become active and swim close to the bottom in search of crustaceans or small fish. With a little luck and a guide familiar with the area, Shark Point is a great place to see seahorses. Sea snakes, large barracudas, and rainbow runners are also regularly spotted here.
