Sira Island

Sira Island is the first of nine islands in the Daymaniya archipelago. From the east side, a wide sandy channel runs from -5 m to -18 m to the north side of the island.
Sleeping leopard sharks and cowtail rays are often found here on the sandy bottom. Along the beautifully overgrown wall, it’s worth taking a look into the many crevices and overhangs. These are home to countless moray eels, snails, and crabs. If you follow the reef, you’ll reach a coral garden dotted with anemones. Several sea turtles also like to gather here. If you follow the rock wall, you’ll reach the south side of the island, which resembles an enchanted garden. This is the nursery not only for the numerous schooling fish but also for the blacktip reef sharks.
