Duke of York

The tour price includes the following services per person:

• Accommodation in a half-standard double cabin with shower and toilet
• Full board, American coffee, water from a water dispenser, tea, fresh bananas
• Check-in at 12:00 p.m. on the day of arrival, followed by dinner
• Breakfast on the day of departure and check-out at 8:00 a.m.
• Diving: up to three dives per day; one dive on the first and last days; one night dive per week; tank, weights, and guide
• Diving dhoni
• Free use of the kayak
• Snorkeling
• 1–2 sunset fishing trips per week (local-style fishing, including hook, line, sinker, and bait)/trolling during the boat trip
• 1 free introductory dive in the lagoon (ages 8 and up) for non-divers; equipment included
• Excursions, island hopping, and trips to Malé City (only for excursions in the Central Atolls)
• Nautilus Sea Life System

The following services per person are not included in the tour price:

• Surcharge for Cabin No. 9 on the main deck and Cabins No. 10, 11, 12, and 14 on the upper deck
• Single occupancy supplement: 50% of the safari price for Cabin 4
• Double cabin for single occupancy: 80% surcharge on the safari price
• Eco-tax: 12 USD per day (payable on board in cash)
• Park fee, Tiger Zoo, and additional diving, for which surcharges apply
• Cruise ONLY in FUVAHMULAH, overnight stay in port: 500 USD per night, to be split among all participants 
• Cruise in BAA Atoll ONLY, Hanifaru Bay entrance fee: 30 USD
• Surcharge for Deep South and Long Trip tours
• Surcharge of 180 USD for the Special Manta Expedition with a marine biologist 
• Domestic flights for southern or northern cruises

Cabins:
The lower deck features 6 double cabins and one single cabin in the bow. Four of the cabins each have one double bed and one single bed; two of the cabins have two single beds. On the upper deck, there are four double cabins with two single beds each; one of these cabins features a large glass window offering a view of the stern of the second deck. On the main deck, there is one cabin with two single beds. The spacious cabins exude cozy luxury thanks to their Maldivian accents and European functionality. They all feature individually controlled air conditioning and a bathroom with a large shower stall, sink, and toilet. There are plenty of bath towels on board, and the friendly crew changes them in the cabins every two days.

The ship is equipped with 220-volt power outlets featuring US/ENG plugs, which can be easily connected to your equipment using adapters—one provided per cabin.

Dining:

Everyone else can enjoy the stunning sunsets in the open-air lounge area, where the large table for the sumptuous buffet-style meals is also set up. Every preference, from diverse tastes to those of true connoisseurs, is catered to as best as possible. For example, vegetarians—upon prior notice—can also enjoy their special dishes. A full range of beverages is available, from water, juices, and soft drinks to beer, wine, and cocktails. Throughout the day, water from a water dispenser, tea, and coffee are available at no extra charge.

Sun Decks:
The sun decks are spacious and approximately half of them are covered. On deck, there are various seating options, ranging from comfortable rattan sets to simple chairs. Of course, there are also lounge chairs for sunbathers. Since the Duke of York’s engines and generators are very quiet, they won’t disturb your relaxation time.

Salon:

The Duke of York’s large, air-conditioned salon features a bar with a wide selection of soft drinks and spirits, as well as two comfortable sofas that serve as a gathering spot and relaxing area for those who want to listen to music, watch a movie, or read a book. Occasionally, thanks to its Dolby Surround TV stereo system, the salon even transforms into a dance floor for special evenings. 3G Wi-Fi is available for a fee.

Spa:

Between dives or after a successful day of diving, guests can unwind in the Ayurvedic spa.

Diving:
The Duke of York offers up to 3 dives per day, during which certified Nitrox divers can dive with Nitrox at no additional cost. If you do not have a Nitrox certification, you can book this course on board with prior registration. We don’t depart for the individual dive sites from a dive platform, but rather from the ship’s own dhoni. The dhoni—a separate 20-meter-long dive boat—serves as the external floating dive deck in the Maldives, where all diving equipment is stowed. The dinghy generally follows behind the Duke of York. The tanks for the next dive are filled there, so there is no noise on board.

FOR CHILDREN: Until they are 16 years old, they must be accompanied by a parent during all activities (except courses)
For divers with a certification allowing a maximum depth of less than 18 meters, a private guide is required at an additional cost

The minimum required certification is Open Water Diver.

THIRD BED for adults: 20% DISCOUNT off the single rate

CHILDREN: (ages 2 to 11) sharing a cabin with 2 adults receive a 75% discount on the safari price (diving not included)

INSURANCE: Mandatory insurance covering accident, medical, luggage, and cancellation must be purchased in your country of residence prior to the trip. DAN insurance (or equivalent) is required for divers.

Group Discount:

For group bookings of nine paying guests, the 10th person is free but must pay the incidental fees.

For group bookings of eighteen paying guests, the 19th, 20th, and 21st people stay for free but must pay the incidental fees.

For group bookings of twenty paying guests, the 21st, 22nd, and 23rd guests stay for free but are responsible for incidental charges.
