Oman Explorer in profile

The MY Oman Explorer is a 37-meter-long, 9-meter-wide steel vessel that has been cruising the Sultanate of Oman’s most spectacular dive sites since 2011. The steel vessel underwent a complete renovation and expansion in the summer of 2015 and offers ample space for 22 divers in modern and comfortable double cabins. Oman remains a destination with an expedition-style character and is a destination for divers with a thirst for adventure and a pioneering spirit!

Cabins:

There are 11 double cabins, with six located on the lower deck and four on the upper deck. All cabins on the lower and upper decks are equipped with two single beds (each 1 m x 2 m). The cabins on the lower deck have portholes that cannot be opened. The cabins on the upper deck have portholes that can be opened. The upper-deck cabins offer a fantastic view of the sea. The master cabin (20 square meters) is located on the main deck. It is the only cabin with a king-size double bed, and in addition to the standard amenities, it features a minibar, a TV with approximately 100 movies in German and English, and two armchairs.  The two side windows with ocean views can be opened in addition to the cabin door. All cabins are equipped with a quiet, individually adjustable air conditioning system, wall-mounted fans, reading lamps, and charging stations. Each cabin has its own comfortable bathroom with a shower stall, rain shower, and hair dryer. Both shower towels and towels for the sundeck are provided.

The standard voltage on the boat and in the cabins is 220 V. The electrical outlets comply with European standards.

Wi-Fi is available on Daymaiyat tours and included in the price. Reception and signal strength depend on the ship’s location. At many dive sites located farther from the mainland, there is no Wi-Fi signal or cell phone reception!

Meals:
The ship has an air-conditioned dining room where delicious and hearty meals are served three times a day in a buffet-style setting.

Sun Decks:

There is a spacious, shaded sun deck with comfortable seating that invites you to relax after diving, as well as another lounge area at the bow of the ship.

Salon:

The air-conditioned salon offers plenty of entertainment options and always has a place to relax. Here you’ll find a library, a lounge area, fish identification books, refrigerators stocked with cold drinks, and a TV for briefings.

Diving:

The boat has two large water basins for rinsing your camera with fresh water. There is limited storage space for cameras. Large cameras are stored in a box lined with a towel to protect them. Dives are conducted from the two Zodiacs or from the dive platform.

Please bring your own diving equipment and documents (diving certification, logbook, medical examination form—alternatively, you can fill out a medical questionnaire—dive computer, surface marker buoy, and your own flashlight for night dives). Equipment can also be rented with advance notice. Rental equipment prices are based on those of the local dive centers where we operate.

All you need is an Open Water or CMAS Bronze certification. It’s important that you already know how to dive safely. You must have completed at least 30 dives, with the most recent dive having taken place no more than 12 months ago. What are the maximum depth and maximum dive time? 30 meters, 60 minutes. Decompression dives are not permitted for your own safety.

Please note that the minimum age for children on board is 15 years!

On the first and last nights of the trip, the ship is usually docked in port. The ship’s departure from and arrival in Sifah depend on the tides!

In the unlikely event of an unexpected change to the embarkation or disembarkation port, Extra Divers will assist with logistics to ensure that guests are directed to the original location but will not cover any associated costs.

Non-Diver Discount: 10% off the safari price

For group bookings of ten paying guests, the eleventh person travels free (lower-deck cabin) but pays the incidental fees.
