Red Sea Explorer in profile

The MY Red Sea Explorer is a safari vessel in a class of its own, featuring larger-than-average guest cabins and offering a variety of safaris to the best dive sites in the Red Sea. The 43-meter-long and 9.70-meter-wide safari vessel was completed in the spring of 2019 and is equipped with every comfort and state-of-the-art technology. Thanks to its unique design, 24 guests enjoy maximum space, comfort, quality, and safety.

Cabins:

The MY Red Sea Explorer can accommodate 24 guests. It features 12 exceptionally spacious cabins. On the lower deck, there are four Superior Lower Deck cabins, each comfortably furnished with two single beds, air conditioning, a TV, a refrigerator, a sofa, a table, a safe, panoramic windows, a bathroom with a shower and toilet, bathrobes, and towels. One of these is a family cabin for 2 adults and 1 child, featuring a third sofa bed. The Upper Deck Superior Cabins, featuring double and single beds, are equipped almost identically (without a sofa or table) and are located on the upper deck. The three Master Suites are located on the ship’s main deck and are equipped the same as the lower deck cabins.

The Royal Suite—also known as “the real big one”—is located on the upper deck of the ship and offers the ultimate in space and comfort. Spanning approximately 45 square meters, the suite features a large king-size bed, a spacious seating area, a rain shower, a TV, a minibar (initial stocking included), and many other amenities, in addition to a private, covered terrace, two adjoining French balconies, a sun deck just a few steps away, and panoramic views in all directions.

Dining:
Delicious and hearty meals are served three times a day in a buffet-style setting. Afternoon snacks as well as coffee, tea, water, and soft drinks are also included in the price.

Lounge:
There is an air-conditioned lounge with a bar and cozy seating areas, TV, and Wi-Fi (reception and signal strength depend on the ship’s route and location).

Sun Decks:

The spacious sun decks are perfect for relaxing.

Diving:

The ship features a dive platform and a very large dive deck. Generally, 3 to 4 dives per day are offered, including night dives (on the first and last days at sea of the liveaboard: 2 to 3 dives). A detailed briefing is held before each dive. There are usually 2 experienced dive guides on board. Diving is done with 12-liter (80 cu) aluminum tanks (DIN/INT connection). 15-liter steel tanks and rental equipment are available on board with advance booking and for an additional fee. Nitrox is free for certified Nitrox divers. The dive deck and dive platform feature freshwater showers, sinks, restrooms, and ample storage space for gear. Dives are conducted either from one of the two spacious Zodiacs—each 6 meters long and 2.45 meters wide and equipped with environmentally friendly Yamaha 4-stroke engines—or from the dive platform. Divers must have completed at least 50 dives. The maximum legal diving depth is 30 meters. Under certain conditions, however, dives up to 40 meters are permitted. This requires a Deep Dive certification. ENOS (a GPS-based emergency location system for divers) is used on board. The use of a dive computer and a signal buoy is mandatory!

General Information:

We require each diver to have a valid certification and logbook, as well as a valid medical certificate or a completed medical self-assessment form. A minimum of 50 dives is required, and the last dive should have taken place no more than 1 year ago. The dive guide reserves the right to prohibit guests who do not meet these requirements or who lack sufficient diving experience from diving at certain locations (due to currents, depth, etc.) without compensation. The maximum diving depth prescribed by Egyptian law and CDWS regulations is 30 meters. Under certain conditions, however, extensions to 40 meters are permitted. This requires a Deep Dive certification. Dives requiring decompression should generally be avoided. Carrying a dive computer and a signal buoy is mandatory and is for your own safety. On certain tours (including BDE and the Marine Park), night dives, swimming, and snorkeling are prohibited. The exact route is weather-dependent and depends on the diving experience of our guests. We reserve the right to change routes due to official orders. Diving is done with 12-liter (80 cu) aluminum tanks (15-liter steel tanks available upon advance notice and for an additional fee). As a rule, there is no equipment or spare parts on board the boat. Equipment, dive lights, and computers can be rented upon advance notice (prices upon request).
ENOS, the safety and tracking system for missing divers at the surface, is provided free of charge to every diver upon request. If the transmitter is lost or damaged, the guest will be charged 350 EUR. We recommend purchasing travel health insurance that includes hyperbaric chamber treatment.
