The safari route

What awaits you on this route

This tour starts and ends in Port Ghalib and heads to St. Johns, to Elba Reef on the Sudanese border.
St. Johns delights divers with its colorful coral gardens, schools of fish, reefs with cave systems, several wrecks, breathtaking drop-off reefs, and, not to be forgotten, spectacular night dives. The final highlight of this safari route is Elba Reef.

Get ready to explore an area that has remained untouched and has never before seen mass dive tourism. Technically located in the northern part of Sudan, on the border with Egypt, the area features three reefs that we call the Elba Region. Huge coral fans are found along the edge of the plateau. It’s not uncommon to spot some large pelagic fish here, such as gray reef sharks and even hammerhead sharks.
The eastern reef of the Elba Region will surprise you with the Levanzo wreck. It might be a somewhat challenging dive: the wreck’s propeller begins at 22 meters, the hull section lies at 40 meters, and the maximum depth is 65 meters.
